Two International Bronze

"Stellar week for IDE dancers"

It's not often that you can celebrate two medals in two separate international events in the same week, but that's exactly what happened in this last gorgeous September weekend, and IDE is so very proud of Kharis Ralph and Asher Hill and Mackenzie Bent and Garrett Mackeen.

In the beautiful town of Oberstdorf, Germany, the Nebelhorn Trophy marks the opening event of the senior season every year. I am proud to say that I myself hold bronze and silver medals from this event as a dancer, and Oberstdorf is probably the closest thing I have to a spiritual home. You will never skate in a better place in the world, in my opinion. Kharis and Asher surpassed all expectations by bringing home a bronze medal, and posting the highest technical score in the event. They received overwhelming positive feedback for the event, especially for their fiercely personal interpretation of their tango FD, and have gained great confidence from this positive experience. They will compete at Skate America in October in Ontario, California. Phoenix, rise!

Over in Brasov, Romania, Mackenzie and Garrett were competing in their first ever JGP event. Competition for JGP spots is fierce this year, and we were very happy that they had been given an assignment after their excellent showing at summer competition. Things got even better in Brasov, where they placed 2nd in the SD, and went on to place 3rd overall, with once again the highest technical score of the event. Due to this fabulous result, they will be given a 2nd assignment, and go to Tallin, Estonia, for the final JGP of the year.

What a way to start the season, our congratulations to all four of you, and keep up the hard work!
