Silver for Crone & Poirier at Skate Canada international!!!!

What a week it has been for junior world silver medalists Vanessa Crone & Paul Poirier! Competing in their first ever senior grand prix event, they danced away with the silver medal at Skate Canada, held in Ottowa, Ontario, October 31st to November 2nd 2008.

With the withdrawal of top Canadian team Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir, due to Tessa's injury, Crone and Poirier were thrust into the spotlight, and they handled themselves with great poise (Paul did entire interviews in French!) To the delight of a wonderfully supportive crowd, they moved up in each portion of the event and ended up with a very unexpected silver medal. They now move on to their next assignment in Paris, where they face very tough opposition, but as the "new kids on the block" they are looking forward to it as a great learning experience. Read their reports soon!

Lake Placid Dance Championships, July 30th-August 2nd 2008

Well, the summer session has almost gone, and where did the time go? Between costumes, tests, competitions and the never ending arrival of new rules (usually right as we were about to compete, or even already competing!), not to mention that now we must also learn how to “de-ballroom” our OD’s, July and August have passed in a flash! But along the way we made our annual pilgrimage to Lake Placid, even taking our “smalls” this year, all of whom thoroughly enjoyed the experience, because, as we all know, there is nothing like Lake Placid. It was wonderful seeing all the new programs go out for the first time, and there were some great performances to enjoy. Here are our results:

Well done everyone!
