Frederick has been skating since he was six years old. He was a singles skater and skated at the York Region Skating Academy. He competed at the 2005-2006 Junior Nationals for Juvenile in freeskate and came in third place.

Abby has been skating since the age of four. Originally a singles skater, she moved to synchronized skating for 3 years. She started competing in ice dance at the Juvenile level and moved up to Pre-novice with her new partner Frederick Cheng.

Abby and Frederick worked very hard and had a wonderful season together. They are now the 2008 Pre-Novice Dance Champions of Canada.
