Andrea Chong and Spencer Barnes began their partnership in 2000. Together they have developed a unique and exciting skating style. In 2004 they were able to obtain their season's goal by becoming the 2004 Novice Dance Champions of Canada. In the summer of 2004 Andrea and Spencer were given the opportunity to compete at their first international event, the North American Challenge Skate, where they placed fourth. Immediately following this event Andrea and Spencer were selected to represent Canada at the ISU Junior Grand Prix in Budapest, Hungary. It was an amazing experience for the couple to be at their first Grand Prix competing against dance teams from all over the world.

This year Andrea and Spencer qualified for the 2005 Canadian Championships in the Junior Ice dance event. They had a seventh place finish, which they were pleased with as first year Juniors. In the future, Andrea and Spencer hope to earn a spot on the Senior National Team and Olympic Team. Andrea and Spencer thank their coaches, Juris Razgulajevs, Carol and Jon Lane for their hard work over the years, and look forward to continued success as they enter the new season.
