Following in her Auntie Blair's footsteps, Briar has fallen in love with the sport of figure skating and most recently the love of ice dancing. With the help of a backyard ice rink, Briar has been skating since the age of three. What attracted Briar to the SFSC was the skating carnival, where it was obvious she was a natural performer. Thanks to Carol and Jon Lane's coaching, Briar has developed an understanding for perfection and hard work. Briar is very excited to be dancing with one of her best friends Josh, and is looking forward to the upcoming challenges, while of course maintaining her trademark smile.

Briar is artistic, an accomplished tap dancer, loves to read, shop, watch movies and simply hang out with friends and her little brother, Dryden.

Joshua began figure skating at 9 years of age at the Scarboro Figure Skating Club. He began Ice Dancing at 11 and after only a couple of months into solo dancing he was keen to dance with a partner at Ice Dance Elite.

Joshua loves skating first and foremost, but he also enjoys reading, playing hockey and now aspires to be a master chef (thank you Jon). Joshua will often be found playing various computer and X-Box games, plus he likes spending time with his two Maltese dogs, Mork and Mindy.

Briar (11) and Joshua (12) formed a new partnership in May 2006 which is a first partnership for Briar. They will compete at the Juvenile level for the 2006-07 Season. Both are thrilled to be learning their first Free-Dance.
